One Paddle, Two Paddle - June 2009

John didn't expect to get frostbite in California in June, but apparently that's normal on the Central Coast. It was freezing there, but warm in spirit as paddlers raced in the frigid waters off of Avila Beach. The island music may have helped everyone to forget how numb they were and enjoy the Hawaiian tunes. The night before the race, everyone met at the Avila Bay Athletic Club for a pa'ina style concert and gathering, where kids and hula dancers alike got their groove on to John's songs.
